Heating solutions for Karlatornet
Karlatornet, at 246 meters and 74 floors, is the tallest building in the Nordics, located by the river at Lindholmen in Gothenburg. Adjacent to Karlatornet, the Clarion Hotel Karlatornet is now being constructed with 300 hotel rooms, including suites located in Karlatornet on the 58th floor. Ebeco has several heating solutions installed in both Karlatornet and the hotel.

Karlatornet offers 611 newly produced condominiums and freehold properties with access to hotel services, a gym, and selected facilities.

Underfloor heating for Karlatornet's bathrooms
We were contacted by Bravida before the installation of underfloor heating in the bathrooms of Karlatornet. The approximately 600 apartments were equipped with Cableflex 11, our series resistive underfloor heating cable, with a power of 11 W/m. Our EB-Therm 205 thermostat was chosen for its easy use and energy-efficient control. The thermostat includes, among other things, an energy-saving program to minimize consumption.
Documentation in Garantera
For the project, documentation was completed quickly and smoothly thanks to our Garantera tool. The documentation could be conducted efficiently, digitally, and without paperwork.

Frost protection for the sprinkler system
Due to the height of Karlatornet, safety is very important. Therefore, a sprinkler system has been installed along with a central fire alarm that reacts to smoke development. The garage is also equipped with a sprinkler system. To frost-proof the sprinkler system in the garage, Ebeco was contacted for a solution. The solution we developed was the self-regulating heating cable ELSR-LS, which acts as a frost protection for the system. Thanks to the properties of the heating cable, the risk of frost damage and frozen pipes is minimized.

Underfloor heating for Clarion Hotel Karlastaden bathrooms
he new hotel being built adjacent to Karlatornet will house 300 hotel rooms and is expected to open in fall 2024. We were contacted by Granitor to develop an underfloor heating solution for the hotel's bathrooms. In consultation with Ebeco's salespeople, Cableflex 20 was chosen, a series resistive underfloor heating cable with a power of 20 W/m. EB-Therm 205 thermostat was also chosen here for its easy use and energy-efficient control. The thermostat includes an energy-saving program to reduce consumption.
Snow melting for Clarion Hotel Karlastaden's roof
A snow melting system is a system of heating cables, smart control, and accessories that prevents ice formation and causes snow to melt. The purpose is to keep a channel open for water drainage, so that it does not freeze on its way down to the frost-free zone.
For the hotel, the self-regulating heating cable T-18 CT was installed. This self-regulating heating cable senses the surrounding temperature and adjusts its power accordingly. For the connection of the heating cable, the Smartlock P connection/joint box was used.
