Frost protection
An easy way to prevent damage and leakage caused by burst pipes is to use heating cables as frost protection for drains and gutters. The heating cable can be used to heat the gutters during the cold months of the year.
Common applications for Ebeco's frost protection products include sewage pipes, water pipes and water meters in, for example, summerhouses, garages, greenhouses, caravans and boats. The products are sold by specialists and are easily installed with a plug.
Frostvakt 10
Frostvakt 10 is a simple way to prevent damage and leaks caused by frost-burst pipes and water conduits. The cable together with the associated fitting is drinking water approved according to KIWA (approval 1289).
Versatile frost protection solution
Frostvakt 10 is a PVC-free heating cable with a pre-fitted plug that easily plugs into an earthed wall socket via a residual current device (RCD). Common applications include sewage pipes, water pipes and water meters in, for example, summerhouses, garages, greenhouses, caravans or boats. Frostvakt 10 is designed for cold water pipes.
Approved for installation in drinking water
Frostvakt 10 with optional Supplementary kit F-10 is a type-approved frost protection solution that is ideal for drinking water pipes. Extensive tests conducted by the accredited certification company KIWA show that Frostvakt 10 with the associated cable fitting is a safe frost protection solution that does not negatively affect health.
Self-regulating heating cable
Due to the fact that the heating cable is self-regulating, it cannot overheat. And it can be crossed to fit the pipe perfectly. It is parallel resistive, which means that the self-adjusting heating cable consists of two parallel wires embedded in a semiconductor material that adapts its output according to the ambient temperature. Even though it may be above zero outside and the frost prevention output is not needed, the heating cable will still be turned on. To turn it off completely, you must pull out the plug or use Frostvakt Control, which turns the cable off in temperatures above freezing point. For longer cables and internal use, control with a thermostat is always recommended.
Effective frost protection solution
For interior laying, Frostvakt 10 can provide frost protection for a 32 mm uninsulated plastic pipe down to -30°C. In the event of even lower temperatures, the pipe can be insulated. Supplementary Kit F-10 is used for interior laying. The maximum connection length for interior laying is 60 m. Available in pre-cut lengths, 2-100 m. The cable is also sold by the metre.
Frostvakt 25
Ebeco Frostvakt 25 prevents problems with icicles in gutters and damage caused by frozen downpipes.
Easy installation
Frostvakt 25 has a fitted 4-metre connection cable with a plug. It can easily be connected to an earthed wall socket via a residual current device (RCD). You can use Frostvakt 25 on gutters and downpipes to melt snow and prevent a build-up of ice, but it can also be used in other areas where cold and frost are a problem.
Intelligent heating cable
Due to the fact that the heating cable is self-regulating, it cannot overheat. And it can be crossed to fit the gutter perfectly. It gives maximum output only when needed, when there is ice and snow. In the parts of the installation where the snow has melted and heat is no longer needed, the cable adjusts its output by up to 50%, which makes it an economical form of frost protection. Frost protection in gutters and downpipes
Frostvakt 25 is excellent for temporary installation in gutters and downpipes. You can easily fix it to the gutter with the aid of Ebeco Smartclip H and connect to a 230 V earthed socket via a residual current device (RCD). Easy to remove when winter is over. For permanent installation a strain relief connector must be used and the installation must comply with current electrical installation regulations.
Frost protection for heat pumps
Frostvakt 25 can be fitted against the plate to prevent condensation from freezing, something that heating cables with a lower output normally cannot manage.
Frost protection for pipes
Frostvakt 25 can be used on the outside of Ø 75 mm or larger pipes. A Ø 110 mm pipe with 20 mm insulation can withstand temperatures down to -30°C when protected with Frostvakt 25. For frost protection of smaller pipes, use Frostvakt 10, which has a lower output.
Frost protection for properties
For larger properties, we recommend a long-term alternative with a fixed installation. Ebeco snow melting roof is a profitable investment that creates security for both people and properties. The system consists of a robust heating cable with smart control that minimises energy consumption.
F-10
F-10 is a self-regulating heating cable that detects the ambient temperature and regulates its output accordingly. Because the heating cable looks after itself, you always have even heat distribution and controlled consumption. F-10 also has tried and tested aluminium screening that makes this cable robust but really easy to install.

The cable is parallel resistive, which means that the self-regulating heating cable consists of two parallel wires embedded in a semiconductor material that adapts its output according to the ambient temperature. Even though it may be above zero outside and the frost prevention output is not needed, the heating cable will still be turned on. To shut it off completely, you must fit a thermostat, such as EB-Therm 800. F-10 can be used either inside or outside for water and sewage pipes.
Easy to install
Because it is self-adjusting, the cable can easily be cut and crossed to fit the pipe perfectly without risk of overheating. No cold cable is needed. The aluminium screening also makes the cable very easy to strip and install, but also robust. A residual current device (RCD) must be used with all heating cable designs.
Drinking-water-approved heating solution
F-10 and its accessories are suitable for installation inside drinking water pipes. This is because they are approved for drinking water use according to requirements in KTW and NSD/ANSI Standard 61. This means that F-10 and its accessories create a drinking-water-approved heating system whose parts are designed to work perfectly together.
Smart accessories make the job even easier
The complete and drinking-water-approved silicone connection/termination kit eliminates the need of a heat gun to install the cable. Adhesive is used instead, which means no "hot work" is involved. Another smart accessory is Supplementary kit F-10, which, as well as being approved for drinking water, also has oval packing that suits the shape of the cable perfectly. This means that the screw fitting has a safe, tight seal.
Copes with the toughest conditions
F-10 has been developed to cope with the coldest winters. The heating cable protects:
- Fitted inside, a 32 mm uninsulated plastic pipe all the way down to -30°C.
- Fitted outside, a 32 mm plastic or metal pipe with 20 mm insulation, -20°C.
The effect can be enhanced even further by fitting the cable double or in a spiral.

Automatic control
Frostvakt Control ensures that the heat is turned on only when the ambient temperature approaches freezing point. Best used with Frostvakt, but also excellent for regulating other frost protection and heating products.
