Installation

Simplified installation with Garantera

By using the Garantera app, you receive a 25-year warranty on the underfloor heating system and a smoother installation process. Scan the products using the EAN scanner, record your measurement values before and after installation, and send the warranty certificate directly to the customer when the installation is complete.

Placement of sensor hose

The sensor cable must be positioned so that it is equidistant on both sides of the installed heating cable. The joint between the heating cable and the cold lead must be embedded in the floor. Ensure that both the heating cable and the cold lead are straight for at least 10 cm on each side of the joint.

Cable installation

Plan the installation in advance to ensure even spacing and full coverage of the intended area. Also make sure that the joint and the cable end are not placed in shower areas or near floor drains. Maintain a minimum distance of 60 cm between the cable end and wet zone 1, and at least 20 cm between the floor drain and the heating cable.

Installation using Cable Clip

The heating cable can be secured using Ebeco Cable Clips, adhesive, or fixing tape intended for heating cables. Secure the cable with a maximum distance of 20 cm between fixing points and ensure that each fixing point is properly anchored so that the cable does not float up when levelling compound is applied.

Installation using adhesive

The heating cable can be secured using Ebeco Cable Clips, adhesive, or fixing tape intended for heating cables. Secure the cable with a maximum distance of 20 cm between fixing points and ensure that each fixing point is properly anchored so that the cable does not float up when levelling compound is applied.

Installation using tape

The heating cable can be secured using Ebeco Cable Clips, adhesive, or fixing tape intended for heating cables. Secure the cable with a maximum distance of 20 cm between fixing points and ensure that each fixing point is properly anchored so that the cable does not float up when levelling compound is applied.

Installation

Cableflex

Cableflex is a series of underfloor heating cables of 6, 11 and 20 W/running meter respectively. All are approved for both screeding and embedding (class M2) and thus have a wide range of applications.

  • Cableflex 6 is specially designed for screeding for comfort heating. The cable can be advantageously combined with our EB-Therm 500 thermostat, which contains a program for comfort heating with built-in maximum limit.

  • Cableflex 11 is Ebeco's classic underfloor heating cable, which is included in our Cable Kit. The cable is screeded in and together with Cable Clip 4, the heating cable clip for reinforced mesh, you save time, money and above all your knees.

  • Cableflex 20 with its higher power output per running meter, is especially suitable for embedding. Together with the specially adapted cable clamp for rebar, Cable Clip 5, this system will save a lot of time.

The room's power output needs are controlled by how well insulated it is, its air turnover and the outdoor temperature.

Flooring materials

Cableflex can be installed under most commonly used flooring materials such as tiled and natural stone floors, wooden and laminate flooring and linoleum.

Check whether the material is suitable for use in combination with underfloor heating with the floor supplier.

Subflooring when screeding

Cableflex 6, 11 is laid on floor constructions of concrete, plaster or chipboard and must then be screeded with a suitable levelling compound.

Cableflex 20 is laid on floor constructions of concrete, plaster or chipboard and must then be screeded with a suitable levelling compound.

Cableflex 6, 11 & 20

On uninsulated concrete floors against the ground, additional insulation is always recommended. It is also recommended that the heating is not switched off completely during the summer to counteract rising moisture.

See manual for further instructions.

Embedding

When embedding, Cableflex 20 is recommended.

See manual for further instructions.

Installed output

The room's power output needs are governed by how well insulated it is, its air turnover and the outdoor temperature, but in addition to these parameters, the criteria below must also be taken into account.

Maximum installed power output for different surfaces:

  • On concrete subflooring: 160 W/m²
  • On flammable subflooring: 120 W/m²

Maximum installed power output for different flooring materials:

  • Tile & natural stone floor: 160 W/m²
  • Wood & laminate flooring and linoleum: 75 W/m²

See manual for further instructions.
