Labels

At Ebeco, we place great importance on making information about our products clear, accurate and easy to understand. Regulatory compliance is also an important part of our work, and we continuously ensure that our product information and packaging meet the applicable requirements and regulations.

In line with new EU requirements, we are now updating parts of the information on our packaging. Among other things, this means you will start to see the new GARAN label on several of our products. Some products also carry Ecodesign information, which describes the product's features and energy use. Several of the changes also stem from EmpCo, the EU directive on greater consumer empowerment in the green transition.

GARAN – clearer guarantee information

GARAN is a label being introduced on applicable Ebeco packaging where the guarantee period exceeds two years. The purpose is to make the guarantee information that consumers encounter clearer.

We have chosen to use the GARAN label on packaging sold through wholesalers as well. This ensures that guarantee information is clear throughout the entire chain and easy to access — both for our customers and for their customers. It is part of our work to combine regulatory compliance with clear and accessible product information.

It is important to distinguish GARAN from Ebeco's other guarantees. The label does not replace our existing guarantees and does not mean that the option of a longer, conditional guarantee disappears. Such guarantees are communicated separately and apply in accordance with their respective terms and conditions.

EmpCo – clearer information for the consumer

Several of the changes stem from EmpCo, the EU directive on greater consumer empowerment in the green transition. The rules include stricter requirements for guarantee information, environmental claims and sustainability labels in marketing.

For Ebeco, regulatory compliance is a natural part of our responsibility as a supplier. We therefore work actively to align product information, packaging and communications with current requirements. In connection with EmpCo, we have among other things reviewed the relevant product information and how various claims and labels are used in our communications.

Ecodesign – product information based on EU requirements

Applicable products also carry Ecodesign information. Unlike GARAN, this is not a symbol or label, but a table containing information about the product's features and energy use.

Ecodesign is based on EU requirements that set standards for the energy-related properties of products. For Ebeco's underfloor heating, for example, control units must meet ecodesign criteria in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2024/1103.

The information in the Ecodesign table makes it possible to access relevant data about the product's features and how much electricity it uses. In this way, Ecodesign complements the other product information on the packaging.

What do the changes mean?

For those of you who work with our products, the changes primarily mean clearer and more structured information on the packaging.

GARAN provides clearer guarantee information, the Ecodesign table brings together information on features and energy use, and EmpCo is behind several of the stricter requirements for how information is communicated.

Packaging is being updated on an ongoing basis, and existing stock in existing packaging will be sold through. The appearance and information on the packaging may therefore differ during a transitional period.
