Complete kit for underfloor heating for wood, laminate and linoleum floors. The foil may only be placed in dry areas. The kit contains the EB-Therm 500 thermostat with several different energy saving programs, tape, connection terminals, RTK cables and sensor hose.

The thermostat is "WiFi READY", or prepared for WiFi. With the accessory, EB-Connect WiFi, the underfloor heating system can be controlled via the Ebeco Connect app, Tibber, Google Home or the open API.

Installation

Lay out the insulation

Cover the entire floor with Ebisol, including areas where foil will not be laid, to achieve a uniform build-up height in the room. Leave 1 cm from the wall at the connection side. Secure the insulation boards with tape to prevent movement.

Positioning the sensor conduit

Cut or chisel a channel for the sensor conduit. The conduit should end in the middle beneath a foil strip. Make a gentle bend to make it easier to insert the floor sensor. Push the sensor into the conduit until it reaches the integrated end stop.

Installing the foil

Roll out the foil to the correct length and use fixing tape to join the long sides of the foil strips together. The foil should end 4–5 cm from the wall at the connection side.

Cable assembly

Connect the foil lengths using the cables supplied. Note that the cables are double-insulated and that both layers of insulation must be removed.

Cover with age-resistant plastic film

Cover the foil with age-resistant plastic film of at least 0.2 mm. At joints, the plastic film must overlap by at least 200 mm.

12 year product guarantee in case of material defects. The thermostat in the kit has a 5-year product guarantee. The guarantee period for the underfloor heating is extended to 25 years if the installation is carried out by an authorised electrician and documented in Ebeco's Garantera service.

Installation

Flooring materials

Check whether the material is suitable for use in combination with underfloor heating with the floor supplier.

The maximum permissible thermal resistance of the floor material is 0.16 m² K/W.

Subflooring

Ebeco's Foil may only be installed in dry areas.

Installed on concrete, plaster or chipboard floor structures.

Industry guidelines for wood/laminate and linoleum on underfloor heating

General conditions:

The maximum permissible surface temperature is 27°C. This also applies under carpets and furniture.

A thermostat with room and floor sensors (overheating protection) must be used.

Installed output

60 W/m². Consider the room's output demand, which is determined by how well insulated it is, its air circulation and the outdoor temperature.
